Now that, as from January 2009, the ASGBl has ceased to be a charity per se (although it is still involved, through its charitable arm, in charitable activity) we can provide many extra benefits for our members. A 'members-only' area of the website is being created which will act as a portal to deliver, for example, benefits such as:

• An on-line directory of all Fellows, with hyperlinks to email addresses
• A facility to update your personal contact data
• On-line registration for meetings, with member discounts where available
• Discussion Boards
• Discounts (up to 40%) on post-graduate CPD degrees (MSc, MBA, MEd etc) through Dundee, Nottingham and Leeds Metropolitan University
• Discounts (up to 18%) on insurance available through General & Medical Private Medical Insurance
• Legal advice
• Priority Hotel booking (Virtuoso)
• Financial advice (through Cavendish Medical and BDB)
• Pastoral care helpline (on-line and telephone)
• Discounted clothing through T M Lewin
• On-line surveys, enabling lobbying on government policies and where we could respond to consultation documents etc.
• Social events
• Access to e-learning
• Facility to create your own 'custom pages', so that, for instance, members could construct the ASGBI's homepage to give one-click access to their own internet 'favourites'
